Summary:
As a part of the Operations Finance team, you'll play an integral role in maintaining the financial and operational health of the manufacturing operations for The Raymond Corporation, a member of the Toyota Material Handling North America group of companies.
This role places a heavy emphasis on cost accounting and includes, but is not limited to, researching/analyzing inventory transactions and costing variances.
You will provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing various reports.
You will also be responsible for preparing standard and non-standard journal entries for income and balance sheet statements.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1.
Maintain internal controls and data integrity following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial activities related to Inventories and other Accounting functions.
2.
Work to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
Maintain and improve standard work instructions for processes and reports.
3.
Reconcile inventory balances on a daily basis while researching and analyzing any discrepancies/unusual transactions.
4.
Analyze and research costing variances including, but not limited to, Material Usage, Purchase Price and Material Yield.
5.
Work closely with the Audit Team to resolve inventory discrepancies and monitor cycle count activity.
6.
With other members of the Operations and Corporate Finance groups, provide assistance in completion of month-end closing processes, including:
o Preparation of standard and non-standard journal entrieso Review, analyze and research unusual entries or general ledger balanceso Preparation of various reports and commentary to be distributed to management 7.
Assist personnel in other departments throughout the organization with accounting transactions and financial information.
8.
Collaborate and work cross-functionally to coordinate the flow and delivery of financial information.
9.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and provide presentations or reports for the Controller, Corporate Finance, Executives, and North American headquarters as required.
10.
Support the Operations Finance team in other functions as necessary.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in business and accounting required.
Broad working knowledge of various accounting standards and guidelines preferred which may include, but not limited to:
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States of America (US GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOx), International Accounting Standards (IAS), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Advanced computer skills with various business software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Work typically involves performing highly skilled analyses.
